The Pillowman on Saturday, 10th Nov.


"The Pillowman (Olivier Award winner for Best Play in 2004) played to rave reviews in London and New York. The Asian premiere is directed by Tracie Pang (Best Director nominee ST Life! Theatre Awards 2007), and features the top talents of the Singapore stage - Adrian Pang (first theatre role after winning the ST Life! Best Actor Award 2007), Michael Corbidge, Daniel Jenkins and Shane Mardjuki.


With the twists of a thriller, and the twisted logic of a horror film, The Pillowman is darkly funny and surprisingly poignant. Katurian, a writer of terrifying short stories, has been newly imprisoned and is questioned by the police, who scale new heights of brutality - and black humour - with their version of the good cop/bad cop mind game. Along the way, the reasons for the storyteller's capture are revealed in a viciously entertaining cat-and-mouse game that has you on the edge of your seat.

1 word: AWESOME! but also freaky. and there was a scene that brought out my Yaoi brain. :P The actors were great. Adrian Pang was funny (and scary at some scenes). But i totally enjoyed Daniel Jenkins' performance the most. He makes a great narrator. :D





The horror/terrifying stories will definitely stay with me..

The Little Green Pig [happiest non-evil story of them all], The Town Above the River [really clever. about why there was a boy who was left behind when the Piped Piper played his tune to lure all the children], The Little Jesus [a girl who wanted to be like Jesus], The Writer and His Brother [how the author's parents tortured him as an experimental effect for his brother], The Apple Men [apples carved into little men and stuffed with a razor blade.. o_O"], and of course The Pillowman [a always smiling humanoid made of pillows who coaxes kids to kill themselves (and look like accidents) so they wun live their horrible miserable lives and end up killing thenselves in the end as adults] (pic above). *shudders*

Good People was on Sunday.


"Set in a hospice, Good People is about the ups and downs of the relationships between 3 people. Miguel is the new Medical Director trying to run a tight ship; Yati is a jaded nurse making the best of a dead-end job; and Radha is the terminally-ill patient who is addicted to marijuana to relieve her pain.


As the three people get tp know each other, complications arise. If Radha get caught, will she be given the death penalty when she only has a few months to live?


Moving, humorous and evocative, Good People looks at urgent contemporary issues through the test of personal relationships."


The actors were great. They all evoked different emotions - anger, laughter, and sadness. 3 actors from 3 different countries. So cool. XD






I think i'll probably go Theatre crazy during the mth of Jan. There's at least 4 shows i wanna see. 16th to 27th January. The best part? IT'S ALL AFTER MY THESIS SUBMISSION! YAY! *in glee* Totally have lots of things to look forward to.. ^_^
